Eric Saunders

Eric Saunders, Photography and Digital Art - Bio

He was raised in Princeton, NJ and Boulder, CO, in an academically oriented family. He then attended Yale University and Yale School of Music, majoring in music and piano performance. After completing his education, he worked as a corporate computer programmer in many different parts of the U.S., in the process re-acquainting himself with a childhood interest in photography.

Except for a five-year hiatus in the mid-1990’s he has lived in the Triangle area of North Carolina since 1988.

He has been a member of professional galleries off and on since 2008, as well as participating in many juried art shows in the last 25 years.

Statement

My subject matter is outdoor landscapes and architecture, natural and urban. I frequently use digital manipulation of images.

There is no journalistic story line to my work. I am always trying to communicate the beauty of abstract art as I see it, and the intrigue of transient moments in nature and life.

I am mostly self-taught as a photographer. Previously I studied classical piano, and then worked as a corporate computer programmer.
