StatementMy inspiration comes from the people and world around me, from nature to the manmade structures of cities, the ebbs and flows of existence. I question where my work fits among the isms or if it even does. Questioning and exploring concepts like symmetry; is symmetry inherent in the object itself or does it exist only in a given time and space for the viewer? Can one capture time and space? What would that look like? In my work I explore ways to represent how the individual or the collective might perceive their world at any given time. I work both abstractly and representational, to explore numerous concept using a variety of media including watercolor, acrylic, ink, and mixed media. The intention of my work is to provide the viewer a space in which to bring their own experiences, question concepts, and contemplate ideas.
