Deborah is a representational artist who did not receive a
formal art education. Although she had enjoyed making
graphite drawings her whole life, she had never really
considered becoming a painter. After retirement in 2014, she
returned to the pursuit of her first love, that was always art.
Painting made her feel something indescribably special and
she fell deeply in love with oil painting. Deborah continues to
work to further develop her skill level in oils and frequently
paints “en plein air”.
I am blessed to continue learning so much from wonderful
instructors as well as my amazing artist colleagues and friends,
who always inspire and generously encourage me to push
beyond my limits. I am in awe of the world around me and find
inspiration in God’s incredible creation and the endless
aspects of it… light, shadow and color in landscapes, beaches,
mountains, reflections in still water, atmospheric effects,
people, and creatures... so much to appreciate... and no limit
to subjects worthy to be captured in art!
