James Fatata

A native of North Carolina, James Fatata earned an undergraduate and a master’s degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He completed additional postgraduate work at North Carolina State University in Raleigh, North Carolina.  James received training in the art of sculpting over a four-year period from Martine Vaugel, internationally acclaimed French/American sculptor and winner of two awards in the International Rodin Grand Prize Monumental Figure Competition. Additional training was acquired in workshops with American Master Sculptors Peter Rubino and James Hall.

Statement

To show the variety and beauty of our environment, my art medium of choice are objects found on my daily walks.  I enjoy the creativity and total freedom I feel when creating abstract compositions that incorporate shape, form, design, color, texture, line, and various assembly methods.
