The Small Treasures Exhibition has become an annual tradition at the Cary Gallery. It is an opportunity to showcase the remarkable artwork being created in the Triangle and across the State of North Carolina.

About Cary Gallery of Artists

The Cary Gallery of Artists is a cooperative operated by local artists. We feature contemporary and traditional fine art and craft, with more than 300 artworks exhibited by 24 artists from around the Triangle. An artist is on duty, so stop by during regular business hours. Displays change monthly, just before our "Final Friday' evening reception, so there is always new work to enjoy when you visit.

Since our founding in 2005, Cary Gallery has offered affordable, high-quality original artwork. Our wide array of pieces includes jewelry, ceramics, paintings, wood, glass, and much more. Many of the artists who call our gallery "home" are well known—teaching, exhibiting, winning awards, and appearing frequently in the press.

A great time to visit is during Cary's Final Friday Art Loop. The last Friday of each month we are open until 8 pm to feature special showings by member artists. Join the fun at these celebrations—we always offer great conversation and goodies, and occasionally live music. Come out and meet the artists, and bring your friends and family!

I have been a portrait photographer in Cary, NC for over 20 years and I am at the very early stages of my painting journey. I began paitning in encaustics by learning photo encasutics from a fellow photographer. I then branched out into non-photo encasutic painting and experimenting with oils, acrylics and soft pastels. I currently offer my work for sale through Etsy and at Barton's Creek Coffee on Six Forks Rd. in Raleigh.

Statement

My work explores the beauty of the natural world working in both oils and encaustic mediums. With a 20 year career as a photographer, my approach is deeply rooted in an appreciation for painting works that capture the essence of a fleeting moment in time. I am drawn to coastal landscapes and my oil paintings lean more towards realism while my encaustic work is more abstracted.
